Throw Back Vintage Advertising

All of the sudden, our daily stream of incoming multi-format content is being interrupted by Christmas.   During the festive period, people and their adored brands are getting crazy while counting down days and hours for the new year to come. A new resolution to set. Moments with the beloved ones, gatherings, gifts, wishes, drinks, sweets, glitter and, lots and lots of sales. Lights on the high street. Pre-Black Friday, Post-Black Friday, Pre Cyber Monday, Bonus Black Friday and so on. Sales events are Happiness.

Opportunity for happiness. Happiness is a red labeled bottle. A golden packaged thing. A song. Hapiness is the emotion driven video ads of John Lewis and Sainsbury's.

I buy, therfore I exist.

Some of my favourite vintage advertising to shape my Chistmas spirit for the year.

Coffee Universe and Stories

People just love drinking coffee for it's taste, or for it's effects. It's a habit I know.  For others is also a memory. Memories are moments. Colour, texture, scent, taste and sounds of machines and people chatting. A well prepared cup of fine espresso and a walk in the streets of Manhattan. We forget the details, we recall only feelings.

Cheers

The Law of the Jungle

"NOW this is the law of the jungle, as old and as true as the sky,
And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die"

The Winter Issue is Here

Winter feelings have arrived this weekend in this little Athens city. Feelings that could be illustrated by images of abandoned places in California and somewhere in Belgium captured by Simon Christen's lenses. This is my goodbye summer post..

In case you enjoy photos from old, mysterious and dasty places you might also like this blog post "Sunday in the city " from a shooting that took place on October 2011 near Athens. View more from my photos here
